About Lobourg Limited

Lobourg was a Pleistocene river in which the Dutch and English rivers used to confluence. According to today's theories, the Lobourg eventually broke through the chalk wall running from the south of England to Normandy and started the physical separation of the British Island from the European continent.

Founder Cornelis (Cor) Timmermans lived all his life at riverbanks including the Meuse, Neder-Rhine, Amstel, Vistula and the  Moskva but longest in Barnes,  Southwest London at the Thames.

His professional career is best described as organising capital flows to companies within the flood plains of above-mentioned rivers. Serving a very limited number of mid market companies with the finance of fast-growing ramp-up plans,

Our Transactions

Polder Capital is a fund manager of Dutch residential ground rent investments. Lobourg assisted with the formation of the fund manager, product development and strategy.

Mogelijk diversified its P2P investors base by arranging a forward flow contract with a first class US investment bank to fund buy-to-let mortgages. We are proud to have assisted the Mogelijk team with this transaction.

We are proud to have assisted Fiduciam with several funding transactions. In particular the funding of UK CBIL and RLS development loans through a Luxembourg securitisation vehicle was a milestone. This allowed fixed income investors and wealth managers to benefit from this attractive assets class.

Working with Cor over the last 7 years has changed my business. Finding access to non-dilutive capital has allowed Lagerbox to quadruple its German portfolio of self-storage stores.

Peter Blauw, CEO and Founder of Lagerbox

Together with partner firm Guy Butler we assisted Carval Investors in their search for a Dutch loan originator and loan book . This resulted in the acquisition of buy-to-let lender RNHB.

In 2017, a €160m portfolio of German and Dutch grocery anchored stores found itself over geared. The secured banks eroded the position of unsecured bond investors. After a long restructuring process, the bond investors were converted into equity while Annexum took over the role of asset manager. The portfolio is now know as Duits Nederlands Supermarkt Fonds

From 2016 to 2021 our partner firm Guy Butler we managed to place approximately £120m long dated private loan notes. This enable AMP Clean Energy to develop a well performing portfolio of granular decentralised renewable assets while delivering a stable well yielding instrument to institutional investors and family offices.

When the funding environment for insurance broker Quintes was difficult in 2017 we managed to introduce a combination of debt and preferred equity to its balance sheet funded by Crestline and replacing local bank debt. This turned the company in a successful sector consolidator while the management team kept their control until a strategic exit was achieved.
